Two Integrated Public Health Laboratories (IPHLs) in Chhattisgarh, located in Pandri and Balodabazar district hospitals, have attained national quality certification. The Pandri IPHL is lauded as the country's first quality-certified facility, demonstrating Chhattisgarh's advancements in providing scientific and reliable diagnostic services.
These certifications follow rigorous evaluations by expert assessors nominated by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Between January 2024 and November 2025, 832 health institutions across the state underwent assessments. The Pandri IPHL achieved an "excellent" score of 90%, while Balodabazar IPHL secured 88%.
The Pandri IPHL serves as a model, conducting over 3,000 daily tests and offering more than 120 diagnostic services, attracting visits from teams across 13 states. The national guidelines even feature its image as a benchmark. The Balodabazar IPHL is also a key hub, performing up to 1,200 tests daily.
