Chandigarh's Pulse Polio campaign commenced with Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria inaugurating the new Model Immunization Centre at UCHC, Sector 22. A unique "Taare Zameen Par - Night Vigil" program has been introduced to administer polio drops to children from migrant families, homeless individuals, and rag-pickers.
Daily, four dedicated night vigil teams work from 7 PM to reach underserved areas. The campaign saw a strong start, with approximately 34,835 children receiving polio drops on its inaugural day, demonstrating a significant commitment to child health.
