Chandigarh Tops Digital Health Records

Chandigarh has been honored as the leading union territory for integrating health records in its Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs (AAMs) and Urban Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs (UAAMs) as part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). This national recognition was bestowed on Friday at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi during the Aarogya Manthan program.

The award acknowledges the city's progress in expanding its digital health infrastructure and successfully linking health records to the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA). This initiative facilitates secure digital access to crucial health information for citizens. The program itself commemorated eight years of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and five years of the ABDM.

Health officials credited the achievement to the collaborative work of healthcare institutions, medical professionals, frontline health workers, and the dedicated ABDM team. Their combined efforts have been instrumental in rolling out digital health solutions throughout the city. The award also underscores Chandigarh's commitment to encouraging greater adoption of the ABDM among both healthcare providers and the public.

This digital health system aims to make health records more readily available, thereby improving the continuity of patient care and reducing reliance on traditional paper-based systems. The successful implementation in Chandigarh serves as a model for other regions striving to enhance their digital health capabilities.
