A man has been revived after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest while at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, located on the Surrey-Berkshire border. Nigel Dunlop collapsed unexpectedly after finishing a day of grounds maintenance.
Emergency services, including a critical care paramedic from South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb), arrived within minutes. They successfully restarted Mr. Dunlop's heart using a defibrillator, averting a potential tragedy.
Mr. Dunlop's partner, Jo Summer, praised the ambulance crews, stating their "calm professionalism, speed, skill, and above all, humanity" were instrumental during the crisis. She conveyed deep gratitude for their life-saving intervention.
She also acknowledged the initial response from Sandhurst staff who began CPR before the ambulance arrived, and the emergency medical advisor who handled the 999 call. This collaborative effort ensured Mr. Dunlop received critical care promptly.
