Tim Bright, a 57-year-old cancer survivor, is set to embark on a remarkable 4,100-mile cycling journey around the coastal roads of Britain. This ambitious adventure, which will start and finish in Cromer, is a personal milestone for Bright, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of his leukaemia diagnosis.
He plans to complete the trip within six months, beginning in April 2026. Bright's unique choice of transport is a restored Raleigh Chopper, a nod to his childhood and a distinctive element of his fundraising efforts. His goal is to raise significant funds for Cancer Research UK, expressing a desire to contribute in return for the life-saving treatment he has received.
Diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia in August 2016, Bright was fortunate to benefit from modern medical advancements, allowing him to live a relatively normal life despite the side effects of his medication. His motivation is further fueled by the memory of a friend who succumbed to acute myeloid leukaemia just six weeks after diagnosis.
