Despite these challenges, Bellamy-Rose is now thriving and recently fulfilled her dream of being a doctor for a day at West Suffolk Hospital.
During her special day, Bellamy-Rose, who lives in Norfolk, engaged in various medical activities. She prepared patients for surgery, visited operating theatres, and worked in blood laboratories, even treating a patient with "fidgety legs." Inspired by the "kind and very polite" doctors who made her feel better, she expressed a strong desire to become a doctor herself, viewing them as her heroes.
Her mother, Paige, shared the immense difficulty of the diagnosis, describing the first year as the toughest. Trips to West Suffolk Hospital and Addenbrooke's Hospital became routine. Paige expressed pride in her daughter's determination and newfound fearlessness, noting that the experience has forged a stronger family bond. Bellamy-Rose has since returned to school and continues with monthly check-ups.
