The Lewis Foundation, established in Northampton, is celebrating ten years of providing essential gift packs to adult cancer patients. The charity was co-founded by Lorraine and Lee Lewis following Lee's mother's cancer treatment.
Lorraine Lewis shared that the foundation now extends its support to 17 hospitals across the Midlands, reaching patients in 83 different wards. The gift packs, which include toiletries, comfort items, and books, are carefully curated with input from both patients and hospital staff.
The charity's initiative began with a desire to alleviate the isolation and loneliness experienced by adult cancer patients. Since its inception, the foundation has distributed thousands of gift packs. In the past year alone, The Lewis Foundation successfully raised over £1.2 million to sustain and expand its operations.
