Breast cancer patients in Guernsey are being encouraged to explore new support services made available through a partnership between the Pink Ladies and the London-based Future Dreams Charity.
This collaboration aims to provide islanders with expanded access to vital resources. These include online offerings such as a mindfulness course and virtual community groups designed to support individuals during their journey through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
Trustees from Pink Ladies are actively seeking input from patients to help tailor the project. Naomi Leach, chairwoman of Pink Ladies, described the partnership as "incredibly exciting," anticipating wider access to specialized breast cancer resources for islanders.
Jackie Wright, lead clinical nurse specialist at Future Dreams, highlighted the initiative as a significant step in broadening support services. Future Dreams intends to replicate this successful model in other communities, particularly those facing geographical barriers to essential aid.
