A seven-year-old boy named Madan, whose parents are from Tamil Nadu, is now recovering after a severe dog attack that occurred two months ago. The incident left him with numerous deep wounds on his head, neck, chest, abdomen, arms, and legs.
He was admitted to the Government Wenlock's Regional Advanced Paediatric Care Centre on April 15. Doctors prioritized his breathing, securing his airway with a tube and later a tracheostomy. Multiple surgeries were performed to clean wounds, remove damaged tissue, and repair deep injuries, including using a muscle flap for a completely exposed arm.
Following surgery, Madan received intensive care in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. He was given strong antibiotics, medications to support his blood pressure, and ventilator support. After two months of dedicated medical and nursing care, he has begun to eat and walk again, showing significant improvement.
