Bloating Hid Terminal Cancer Diagnosis

A 46-year-old mother, Cecilia Capolupo, faced a devastating diagnosis after returning from a holiday in Devon. What she initially perceived as bloating and stomach cramps, symptoms that emerged after enjoying local foods, were later revealed to be stage-four bowel cancer.

Following a routine colonoscopy in September 2025, doctors discovered an eight-centimetre tumor that had metastasized to her abdominal wall, liver, and lungs. This aggressive cancer left her with a grim prognosis of only two years to live, a stark contrast to her previously perceived good health.

Originally from Argentina and now residing in Clapham, London, Cecilia described the diagnosis as a "death sentence." The shock led to a panic attack, and she has been grappling with the emotional toll, spending time saying goodbye to loved ones.
