Beverley Callard Celebrates Cancer Treatment Milestone

Actress Beverley Callard has announced a significant positive development in her ongoing cancer treatment. The 69-year-old star, who revealed her early-stage breast cancer diagnosis in February, shared the update on Thursday via Instagram.

Callard reported that tests conducted in America on a lymph node showed low numbers, indicating a less aggressive form of the cancer. This encouraging result allows her to begin radiotherapy treatment very soon, a step she is pleased to take.

She celebrated the news by popping champagne with her husband, Jon McEwan, who remarked on their challenging journey. Callard, who recently relocated to Ireland for her role in Fair City, had previously undergone surgery and faced a delay in receiving test results.

This positive update follows a period where Callard had to withdraw from the live final of I'm A Celebrity...South Africa due to feeling unwell after a late-night virtual appearance. She had previously shared concerns about fatigue during her cancer treatment.
