A World Mental Health Day Run saw over 2,000 participants, including approximately 500 students, gather at Cubbon Park in Bengaluru. The event, held ahead of the official October 10th observance, was a youth-led initiative spearheaded by Imaan Zara Khan, a Grade 11 student and 1M1B Changemaker.
Participants engaged in 3K, 5K, and 10K runs designed to encourage dialogue on emotional well-being. The "Unspoken Run" 3K category, for instance, symbolized the importance of open conversations about mental health.
This run is part of Project S.A.F.E. (Student Advocacy for Emotional Well-Being), founded by Imaan. The initiative focuses on adolescent mental health through research and advocacy, questioning how distress is recognized and how support is accessed by young individuals.
Imaan Khan is set to present Project S.A.F.E. at the 10th 1M1B Summit, taking place at the United Nations Office in Geneva.
