Balochistan Boosts Heart Care Access with New Facility

A modern 150-bed hospital, the Balochistan Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (BICVD), is nearing completion and expected to be inaugurated later this month. Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti chaired a meeting to review the hospital's operational readiness.

The establishment of BICVD aims to provide residents of Balochistan with advanced, specialized cardiac care within the province. This initiative will eliminate the necessity for patients to seek treatment in other regions.

During its initial phase, three satellite centers linked to the main hospital will become operational, offering basic medical services and ensuring prompt diagnoses. In the subsequent phase, the network of these centers is slated for expansion to all divisional headquarters.

Chest Pain Management Centres will also be established in every district to provide immediate assistance for cardiovascular symptoms. The BICVD will be equipped with contemporary medical equipment, specialist staff, and an effective administrative system.

Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar highlighted that expanding healthcare services beyond Quetta to remote districts through satellite centers is a key government priority. This investment in the health sector aims to alleviate public difficulties in accessing medical treatment and improve cardiac care accessibility across Balochistan.
