Govt Spurs Tech for Faster Health Insurance Claims

The government is actively promoting technology-led solutions to enhance efficiency in healthcare insurance, specifically targeting the automation of claims processing under Ayushman Bharat. The National Health Authority has launched an Auto-Adjudication Hackathon to foster the creation of scalable tools designed to simplify claim assessment and settlement procedures for the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana.

This initiative is critical for improving transparency and reducing processing times, which are essential for bolstering confidence among healthcare providers and beneficiaries alike. The hackathon encourages innovation in automated systems capable of accurately managing high claim volumes while adhering to compliance standards.

Shortlisted teams will present their solutions during a two-day offline finale at the Indian Institute of Science, scheduled for May 8 and 9. Medical institutions nationwide have been urged to inform their stakeholders and encourage participation from researchers and professionals. Experts anticipate that automation will significantly minimize manual errors and expedite claim adjudication, addressing key challenges in public health insurance programs.
