The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in Goa is enhancing cancer treatment through a unique integration of ayurveda, yoga, and modern oncology. This multidisciplinary approach aims to significantly improve patients' quality of life.
The Integrative Oncology outpatient department (OPD), established in November 2025, has supported over 150 patients. It combines therapies such as Ayurvedic Rasayana, personalized diet plans, lifestyle modifications, and yoga to restore patient dignity and well-being.
Clinicians shared positive outcomes, citing a patient with metastatic ovarian cancer who experienced relief from fatigue, insomnia, and joint pain. Another case involved a 70-year-old patient with Stage-3 colon cancer who found relief from post-surgical symptoms through ayurvedic treatment, diet, yoga, and counseling.
