A new precision-medicine company, Gene S Dx, has been formed by Syngenis Labs, the Perron Institute, and the scientists behind Gene S. This collaboration aims to scale an Australian-developed pharmacogenomics platform called Rosa. The platform analyzes a patient's genetic data to inform decisions on medicine and dosage, with reports typically ready within two to three days.
Syngenis Labs will hold one-third of Gene S Dx, bringing its expertise in DNA/RNA synthesis and manufacturing. The Rosa platform, named after Rosalind Franklin, combines genetic sequencing with proprietary software to interpret genetic variations. Its initial application, RosaMind, focuses on mental health, providing prescribing guidance for over 20 medications.
The Gene S Dx venture is poised to address the growing global precision medicine market, valued at over $116.6 billion in 2025. Future applications for the Rosa platform are planned for pain management, cardiac prescribing, and gut health, with the goal of developing and manufacturing an expanding suite of genetic testing panels in Australia.
