- J&J combo offers nearly 3.5-year median overall survival.

The 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) congress in Chicago featured crucial updates in lung cancer research. Bristol Myers Squibb and BioNTech presented promising interim Phase II data for their PDL-1/VEGF bispecific, pumitamig, showing a 70% overall response rate (ORR) in frontline non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Kelun presented remarkable data for its selective RET inhibitor, lunbotinib fumarate, achieving ORRs of 81.3% and 87.1% in treatment-naïve and pre-treated patients, respectively. The company also announced it would file for Chinese approval of this drug.
Johnson & Johnson shared updated Phase I/Ib CHRYSALIS-2 study results for Rybrevant and Lazcluze in EGFR-mutated NSCLC. The combination demonstrated a median overall survival of nearly three and a half years, offering durable disease control for patients with atypical EGFR mutations.
Pfizer's ALK inhibitor, Lorbrena, showcased impressive seven-year data from the CROWN trial, indicating a 55% likelihood of remaining alive without disease progression. This therapy also demonstrated a 94% reduction in the risk of intracranial progression.
