AI-based diagnostic tests are being promoted for their accuracy, speed, and affordability. The MedTech challenge, a collaboration launched in November 2025 with Ratan Tata Innovation Hub and A.P. Innovation Society, sought innovative medical technologies to enhance healthcare efficiency. Over 297 applications were received, with 18 shortlisted for demonstration in government hospitals.
The challenge concluded with cash prizes and certificates awarded to winning startups in categories like AI-Powered Diagnostics, Portable Point-of-Care Testing, Smart Monitoring and Wearables, and Remote Care and Telemedicine. These innovations are expected to revolutionize not only healthcare but also potentially agriculture, education, and social development sectors, provided a clear implementation strategy is in place.
