Andhra Pradesh to Launch Digital Health Revolution

Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for a statewide rollout of its Sanjeevani digital healthcare program, scheduled to commence on January 1st. This ambitious initiative, building on successful pilot phases in Kuppam and Chittoor, promises to transform healthcare delivery.

The program will leverage digital health records and artificial intelligence to provide advanced services. Officials are developing a comprehensive 90-day implementation plan. This includes establishing digital infrastructure, training healthcare personnel, and integrating with national health portals.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the importance of predictive, preventive, and cost-effective healthcare solutions. He stressed the need for greater utilization of AI while ensuring robust data privacy and security measures are in place.

Pilot projects in Chittoor district demonstrated tangible benefits. Data revealed that 56% of hypertension cases were managed effectively, and diabetes severity decreased in 16% of patients. Citizen feedback indicated a significant rise in health awareness among beneficiaries.

The Sanjeevani initiative is designed as an AI-enabled ecosystem covering the full spectrum of care, from screening to follow-up. Health updates will also be directly communicated to citizens via mobile phones.
