Ten dedicated staff members from the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) have been celebrated with royal honors, including medals and bars, for their outstanding service in emergency care. These awards, presented on behalf of the King, acknowledge individuals who have completed 20, 30, and 40 years with the service.
Andrea Raine, head of operations, and paramedic Mark Hodgson, who has served for four decades, were among those honored. The ceremony, held at the Grand Hotel Gosforth Park, highlighted the deep commitment and humanity displayed by these emergency care professionals.
Lord Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear, Lucy Winskill, presented the awards, emphasizing the personal stories of dedication behind each recipient. Staff like Julie Horner and David Graham expressed pride in their service, reflecting on challenging yet rewarding experiences and the strong camaraderie within NEAS.
