A tragic incident unfolded in Mandla district, Madhya Pradesh, where a 21-year-old man, Ajit Baraiya, reportedly died due to a depleted oxygen supply in a government ambulance. His father watched helplessly as his son struggled for breath. Ajit, who had chronic kidney disease, was being transported to Mandla District Hospital from a community health center when the alleged oxygen failure occurred.
The family alleges that the 108 ambulance, summoned after Ajit's condition worsened, arrived nearly an hour late. They further claim that the oxygen cylinder present in the ambulance ran out during the journey, leading to the young man's death before reaching the hospital.
Mandla Collector Rahul Namdev has ordered a four-member inquiry committee to investigate the circumstances. The committee will examine medical treatment, ambulance operational protocols, and whether mandatory oxygen cylinder checks were performed. Strict action is promised if negligence is proven.
