Rebecca Sudworth of the FSA stated that several items sampled across the UK had peanut and sesame components not listed on their labels. This oversight presents a serious danger to individuals with allergies, prompting the regulatory body to recommend avoidance as a safeguarding measure.
The Chartered Trading Standards Institute reinforced the warning, emphasizing that clear allergen labelling is a legal requirement. Businesses are urged to take immediate steps to ensure compliance, as failure to do so is both illegal and highly dangerous for allergy sufferers.
