A North Uist mother, Eilidh MacNab, experienced severe complications during her third pregnancy, diagnosed as pre-eclampsia at 34 weeks. This condition posed significant risks to both her and her unborn child, necessitating urgent medical intervention.
MacNab was transferred via Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. The air ambulance paramedics provided a calming presence, alleviating her anxiety during the critical journey. Her baby, Seòras, was subsequently born safely.
Returning home before Christmas with Seòras and her two other sons, Findlay and Hamish, MacNab emphasized the indispensable role of the air ambulance in island life. She expressed profound thanks to the crew for their professionalism and warmth during the life-saving operation.
