AIIMS Gets Rs 5,500 Crore Boost for Research

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has been granted a significant special allocation of Rs 5,500.92 crore in the recent Union Budget. This funding is specifically designated to enhance research activities, drive innovation, and promote the comprehensive development of the institution. The amount represents a 5.85 percent increase from the previous year's allocation.

According to Dr. Rima Dada, who manages the AIIMS Hospital Media Cell, this budgetary support will empower AIIMS to expand its role as a national center for advanced medical research and capacity building. The funds are intended to support pioneering research across various medical disciplines, encourage novel approaches to healthcare delivery, and strengthen institutional development initiatives.
