Artificial intelligence is poised to revolutionize disease surveillance, diagnosis, and treatment, serving as an assistive force for doctors rather than a replacement, according to Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel. Speaking at the second convocation of AIIMS, Mangalagiri, on February 17, 2026, she emphasized technology's potential to expand healthcare access and save lives when aligned with public purpose.
Minister N. Lokesh, Guest of Honour, lauded AIIMS, Mangalagiri's remarkable expansion since its 2015 inception. It has evolved into a comprehensive tertiary care facility with nearly 650 beds, over 1,300 students, and advanced medical services, including open-heart surgeries and robotic knee replacements. He acknowledged the irreplaceable value of human touch and empathy in healing.
During the ceremony, degrees were awarded to 49 MBBS students, five postgraduate students, and four PDCC graduates. The institute's Executive Director and CEO, Ahanthem Santa Singh, presented a report detailing progress in academics, patient care, infrastructure, and research, congratulating the graduating cohort.
