Summary
- Over 85 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts have been created.
- Hospital empanelment has grown significantly to 33,270.
- Grievances can be registered via a toll-free helpline number.

The Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA) initiative has achieved a significant milestone, with 85.48 crore accounts created nationwide as of February 2. These accounts offer a unique digital health identity, enabling citizens to securely access and share their medical records.
The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) has also experienced robust growth in hospital empanelment. The number of empanelled hospitals has risen from 6,917 in fiscal 2018-19 to 33,270 by December 21, 2025. This includes 17,537 public and 15,733 private hospitals.
While 458 private hospitals opted out of the scheme recently for various reasons, 6,952 private hospitals were empanelled in the last three years. A total of 1,259 private hospitals are now available in aspirational districts. Beneficiaries can access treatment through this extensive network.
In instances of treatment denial by an empanelled facility, individuals can register grievances through the Centralized Grievance Redressal Management System or the dedicated 24x7 toll-free helpline, 14555. Claim settlements under the scheme are managed continuously by respective State Health Agencies.
