A newborn girl weighing an extremely low 610 grams, delivered at just 25 weeks gestation, has made a remarkable recovery at Gleneagles Hospital Chennai. The infant's mother was undergoing pregnancy care due to severe pregnancy-induced hypertension and pre-eclampsia.
Following an emergency caesarean section, the critically ill baby was admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The infant required prolonged respiratory support due to immature lungs and faced numerous health complications, including multiple septic episodes and feeding difficulties.
After spending more than 100 days receiving intensive care, the baby has now been successfully treated and discharged, marking a significant triumph for the medical team and the family.
