A proposed wind farm on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales has ignited strong opposition from local residents. The development, named Hope Moor Wind Farm, would feature 20 turbines standing approximately 656ft tall, situated near Stang Forest between Arkengarthdale and Teesdale.
More than 100 people gathered at a public meeting to discuss the plans, expressing significant concerns. Issues raised included the immense size of the proposed turbines, potential harm to the delicate peatland ecosystem from substantial concrete usage, and the risks to local wildlife.
