Worcestershire County Council is marking the 10th anniversary of the Hoobrook Link Road. This vital £16m infrastructure project, which opened on September 19, 2016, connects the A451 Stourport Road and the A442 Worcester Road in Kidderminster.
Over the past decade, the link road has successfully eased congestion and improved journey reliability for local commuters and businesses. Its impact extends beyond transportation, as it has also fostered environmental benefits.
The scheme incorporated features to support local wildlife, including bat and bird boxes, badger tunnels, and a kingfisher nesting tunnel. These elements have helped create wildlife corridors and regenerate a local coppice woodland, demonstrating a positive, lasting environmental impact.
