A concerning number of wildlife deaths has been reported near the Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve. In the Indergarh range, the remains of at least 12 peacocks, including seven males and five females, were discovered by forest officials. These birds were found to be two to seven days old, indicating deaths occurring over a period of time in the same locality. While no immediate signs of poaching or poisoning were evident, the precise cause remains under investigation pending detailed post-mortem reports.
In a separate incident, seven turtles, consisting of four females and three males, were found deceased near a water body close to Dodi village. Preliminary medical examinations suggest that these turtles may have succumbed to suffocation. Samples from both the peacocks and turtles have been collected for further laboratory analysis to ascertain the definitive causes of their deaths. Forest officials are coordinating investigations into these unusual wildlife mortality events.
