Summary
- Upcoming CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam to be "Zero Waste" event
- Expected to attract 3,000 delegates with potential ₹10 lakh crore investment
- Sustainable event management model to position Visakhapatnam as green city

In just a few weeks, on November 14-15, 2025, the city of Visakhapatnam will host a landmark event—the CII Partnership Summit, which will be India's first-ever "Zero Waste" conference. This historic milestone is being spearheaded by the Swachh Andhra Corporation Chairman, Kommareddy Pattabhiram, who has been working closely with the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) to ensure the summit achieves this ambitious goal.
Pattabhiram recently visited the Andhra University Engineering College Grounds to review the ongoing preparations, inspecting the infrastructure and facilities. He then held a review meeting with GVMC officials, including Mayor Peela Srinivasa Rao, to finalize the details. The Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Municipal Administration Minister have personally invited top global companies to invest in Andhra Pradesh, and the summit is expected to attract around 3,000 delegates from India and abroad, with potential investments amounting to a staggering ₹10 lakh crore, which could create employment for 7.5 lakh youth.
The Swachh Andhra Corporation Chairman emphasized that the Chief Minister has declared the event a certified "Zero Waste" model summit, where all types of waste generated will be 100% recycled and reused, with no waste being released into the environment. On-site composting facilities are being set up, and solid waste will be handed over to authorized recyclers, implementing a comprehensive circular economy model in collaboration with GVMC and CII. This initiative is set to serve as a national role model for sustainable event management, positioning Visakhapatnam as a shining example of a green city.
