Varanasi has achieved a significant environmental milestone, securing a Guinness World Record for planting an astounding 251,446 saplings within a single hour. This impressive feat took place in the Sujabad Domari area on a Sunday, effectively surpassing China's 2018 record. The certification was officially granted by Guinness World Records adjudicator Rishinath.
The UP government coordinated a large-scale plantation over nearly 350 bighas, transforming it into an urban forest. This initiative involved numerous government departments, institutions, and social organizations, along with extensive participation from military personnel and student volunteers.
