9 Feb
Summary
- Wintry showers are expected across many UK cities.
- Heavy snow will settle from East Anglia to Scotland tonight.
- Northern Scotland could see up to 99cm of snow near Aberdeen.

Wintry showers are anticipated across numerous UK cities today. As evening approaches and temperatures fall, a substantial band of snow is expected to form. This snow belt will stretch from East Anglia into the Midlands, continuing through the north of England and into Scotland.
Southern and eastern regions are also likely to experience snowfall, suggesting the possibility of widespread disruption. Scotland is set for a persistent fall of snow throughout the day, with the highest ground in the north, particularly near Aberdeen, predicted to see as much as 99cm of snow in the most affected areas.
The Met Office forecasts a period dominated by cyclonic weather patterns. Colder conditions may become more widespread earlier in this forecast period, increasing the likelihood of snow, mainly affecting northern and northeastern parts of the country.
