UK Heatwave: Warmer Than Ibiza This Week!
7 Apr
Summary
- Temperatures expected to reach 24°C in Wales, hotter than Ibiza.
- Warm spell to be followed by a sharp temperature drop by Thursday.
- 2026 predicted to be one of the four warmest years on record globally.

Following Storm Dave, the UK is set to experience a brief, unusually warm period with temperatures expected to exceed those in Ibiza. Western Wales may see highs of 24°C, with much of the country experiencing between 18°C and 23°C. This warm spell is attributed to southerly winds and clear skies, making it significantly warmer than the early April average of 15°C. Wednesday, April 8, could even reach 26°C, potentially making it the warmest start to April in six years.
A red pollen warning has been issued for England and Wales, lasting approximately a week due to the elevated temperatures. However, this warmth is short-lived. The Met Office forecasts a drastic temperature decrease by Thursday, April 9, with readings expected to fall back to between 10°C and 13°C, and as low as 7°C in northern areas.
