Summary
- Amber heat health alerts issued across England for potential record 38C temperatures.

An amber heat health alert has been issued for most of England, with forecasts predicting record-breaking temperatures that could reach up to 38C. This alert is active from Monday morning until Friday night.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has cautioned that these extreme temperatures may lead to minor impacts on health and social care services. Specific concerns include increased demand for healthcare from vulnerable individuals, a heightened risk to life for those most susceptible, and the potential for indoor environments to become dangerously warm.
Additionally, there is an anticipated increase in water-related incidents, with risks such as cold-water shock and drowning being highlighted. The alert period runs from Monday, June 22, until Wednesday, June 24.
Europe is also enduring a significant heatwave. Rome is expected to see temperatures of 37C, Madrid 39C, and parts of France could exceed 40C on Monday. In response to the severe heat and wildfire risk, emergency services and military personnel in France have been placed on high alert.
