Typhoon Noul is on a trajectory to bring severe weather to southern China, with Hong Kong placed on high alert for anticipated winds and heavy rain this weekend. As of Saturday, Noul is steadily moving across the northeastern South China Sea.
The Hong Kong Observatory anticipates the typhoon could make landfall by Sunday morning in the vicinity of the southern Chinese cities of Huizhou and Shanwei. These areas, along with parts of southeastern Guangdong and the southern coast of Fujian, are bracing for heavy squally showers and thunderstorms.
Taiwan's Central Weather Administration has also reported rainfall in its southern and eastern parts, though Noul is moving away from the island. Earlier in July, Typhoon Bavi led to over 2 million evacuations in eastern China, and Typhoon Maysak also made landfall.
