Trichy is set to experience a significant green transformation as Exnora, an environmental NGO, embarks on a mission to plant 25,000 native tree saplings within the next five years. This initiative, known as 'Trichy to TREE'chy,' aims to substantially increase the city's overall green cover.
The NGO plans to execute a large-scale tree plantation drive across Trichy and its surrounding areas. This effort will be complemented by regular cleaning drives in various residential neighborhoods, undertaken with the cooperation of local residents' welfare organizations.
Furthermore, Exnora intends to beautify public spaces, including parks and traffic roundabouts, with the support of potential sponsors. The organization recently expanded its membership, adding over 120 individuals, including 50 college professors, as announced at its annual general body meeting.
