15 Nov
Summary
- Largest climate march in Glasgow since COP26 in 2021
- Protesters demand urgent action on climate change and Rosebank oil field
- Solidarity with global movements, including Palestine

On November 15, 2025, thousands of people gathered in Glasgow, Scotland, to participate in a massive protest against climate change. The march, organized by Friends of the Earth Scotland, was the largest climate demonstration in the city since the COP26 summit held there in 2021.
The protesters marched through the city center, carrying banners and chanting slogans that called for immediate action to address the climate crisis. Speakers at a rally on Glasgow Green included STUC deputy secretary Dave Moxham and Poverty Alliance chief executive Peter Kelly, who emphasized the need for a "better world" and transformative change.
The demonstration also saw a show of solidarity with global movements, including the fight for climate justice in Palestine. Palestinian flags were visible throughout the march, and the Gaza Genocide Emergency Committee in Glasgow joined the protest, highlighting the interconnected nature of the struggles against corporate and political forces.
The protest was not limited to climate change alone. Activists also voiced their opposition to the Rosebank oil field, the UK's largest undeveloped oil field, located west of the Shetland Isles. A group of children chanted "Stop Rosebank, the planet is for everyone" as they marched through the city center.
The organizers of the event, Friends of the Earth Scotland, said the turnout demonstrated a growing desire for urgent climate action and a recognition that the challenges faced by communities around the world are deeply connected. The protest reflected a shared struggle across various movements, united in their fight against the forces behind the existential threats to the planet and its people.
