Tadoba Tiger Reserve has unveiled its Vision 2047, setting bold objectives to become Asia's premier tiger destination. This plan targets securing Rs1,000 crore in climate finance and establishing an all-electric safari fleet within five years. The reserve aims for 'zero poaching' and fully paperless governance by 2047.
The strategy includes advanced surveillance with a Spatial AI Control Room and facial recognition cameras to combat wildlife crime. Habitat restoration and species reintroduction, including potential reintroduction of barasingha, are also prioritized. Tadoba seeks UNESCO World Heritage and Ramsar site status for its natural assets.
Community welfare is central, with plans for village homestays, local employment quotas at resorts, and job creation. The reserve also intends to leverage augmented and virtual reality safaris. The roadmap is divided into three phases, focusing on digital transition, landscape integration, and global leadership towards net-zero.
Conservation efforts will be funded through biodiversity offsets and climate finance, establishing a conservation foundation to reduce reliance on state budgets. Community initiatives include women-led self-help groups and solar fencing for farmers, promoting sustainability in buffer villages.
