Summer Birds Arrive in India: A Natural Spectacle
8 May
Summary
- Birds migrate to India for better weather and nesting.
- Summer visitors arrive from Africa and Europe.
- Migration faces risks from climate change and habitat loss.
As summer arrives, India's natural habitats are enlivened by the presence of migratory birds. These species undertake arduous journeys from continents like Africa and Europe, seeking favorable weather conditions and ample resources for nesting and raising their young.
Wetlands and woodlands across India, including regions like Gujarat, Haryana, and Bengal, become temporary homes for these avian visitors. Their arrival signifies the vibrant cycles of nature and the interconnectedness of global ecosystems.
However, these remarkable migratory journeys are under significant threat. Climate change and the loss of natural habitats pose substantial risks to the survival of these bird populations and their ability to complete their seasonal travels.
