- Placement of twin-type dustbins for effective waste segregation

In the lead-up to the Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 campaign, the Solapur Division of Central Railway has been spearheading a comprehensive cleanliness and awareness drive across its major and minor stations. Over the past few days, the division has undertaken intensive cleaning activities under the theme "Swachh Stations (Clean Stations)".
On October 3rd, a massive cleanliness drive was carried out at key stations, including Solapur, Kalaburagi, Wadi, Kurduvadi, Latur, and Pandharpur. The focus was on deep cleaning of platforms, toilets, and drainage systems. Officials also inspected the cleaning machinery, tools, and protective gear provided to sanitation workers to ensure their proper functioning.
The following day, similar drives were extended to other stations across the division, with cleaning activities on platforms, tracks, offices, and station surroundings. Toilets were also cleaned wherever available. To promote environmental consciousness, regular announcements were made at major stations, discouraging the use of single-use plastic and urging passengers to avoid littering.
As part of the division's sustainability initiatives, the Electrical Department inspected the rooftop solar panels installed at various locations to ensure optimal functioning and undertook cleaning where required. Additionally, twin-type dustbins have been placed at major stations to enable the segregation of wet and dry waste, along with further separation of biodegradable and non-biodegradable garbage.
Through these continued efforts, the Solapur Division of Central Railway has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining clean, green, and passenger-friendly stations in alignment with the vision of the Swachh Rail-Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
