The first-ever Skyfire Environmental Film Festival is scheduled for March 27-29 across Phoenix, Mesa, and Tempe, Arizona. This three-day event is designed to transform climate awareness into measurable action by uniting filmmakers, educators, scientists, and community leaders.
Festival co-founder Mike McMahon announced that 'Kuleana,' a documentary narrated by Woody Harrelson, will open the festival on March 27. This film highlights the impact of plastic pollution on Hawaii's ecosystems and oceans.
Concluding the festival on March 29 is 'Fork in the Road,' an executive-produced film by Nick Offerman. This documentary delves into the movement to rethink food systems, celebrating farmers and chefs committed to land and community well-being.
Throughout the weekend, a diverse array of films will screen, addressing themes such as climate change, conservation, food systems, and environmental justice. Awards for outstanding films will be presented during the festival.
