Animal welfare group evicted over massive rent debt
9 Dec
Summary
- Animal Lovers League owes over 50 months of rental arrears.
- Sick animals were found without adequate veterinary attention.
- AVS removed 15 animals needing medical care since December 2024.

Animal Lovers League (ALL), a long-standing animal welfare organization in Singapore, has been forced to vacate its premises at The Animal Lodge. The decision by the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) stems from over 50 months of unpaid rental arrears.
During inspections, AVS personnel observed that several animals under ALL's care were unwell and not receiving necessary veterinary treatment. Compounded by feedback from volunteers regarding animal welfare, AVS initiated measures to address the situation, prioritizing the well-being of the animals.
AVS has been actively involved in removing animals requiring medical attention, with 15 transferred since December 2024. Some of these animals have since recovered and found new homes. The tenancy was not renewed after ALL failed to settle its debts, despite AVS offering various support measures.
