Sierra Club Gala Celebrates Climate Leaders

The Sierra Club's 2026 Trail Blazers Ball, scheduled for April 8 in Los Angeles, will celebrate influential figures driving environmental progress. This event is designed to recognize "environmental luminaries and thought leaders" and inspire impactful solutions for global ecological challenges.
Among the distinguished honorees are former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, who will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award, and Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman, slated to receive a Visionary Award. Media mogul Ted Turner will be presented with a Vanguard Award, while activist Dolores Huerta is set to receive a Changemaker Award. Additionally, Dr. Lyla June, Sage Lenier, and Our Children's Trust will be honored with Trail Blazer Awards.
Loren Blackford, the Sierra Club's executive director, emphasized that the honorees demonstrate "fearless and bold leadership" essential for climate progress, whether through policy, community engagement, philanthropy, or storytelling. Vicangelo Bulluck, chief of Sierra Club's Green Ventures and Partnerships, highlighted the event's role in community building and leveraging the environmental movement's cultural influence for change.
Complementing the gala, the Sierra Club will host the Sierra Symposium on April 7 and the Sierra Sessions on April 11 during Climate Week and Earth Month. The Sierra Sessions, an inaugural music-focused event, will showcase "eco-conscious songwriters and storytellers" using art to promote action, with all events available via stream on the Sierra Club's YouTube channel.
