18 Apr
Summary
- A seal pup traveled 120km from Cornwall to Wales, found underweight.
- The pup, named Muse, tripled in size while under RSPCA care.
- Muse was released in Devon on April 8th alongside five other seals.

A young grey seal pup, affectionately nicknamed Muse, undertook an astonishing 120km swim from Cornwall to the west coast of Wales. The pup was discovered alone and in poor condition on rocks in St Brides Bay, Pembrokeshire. It was identified as being underweight and potentially suffering from a respiratory infection.
Following its rescue, Muse was transported to RSPCA facilities in Somerset for rehabilitation. During its time under the care of RSPCA staff, the seal demonstrated a remarkable recovery, nearly tripling its initial weight. Muse's final weight reached 41.5kg, indicating it was healthy enough to compete for food.
