Actress Sanjana Sanghi is collaborating with The Rockefeller Foundation to spotlight the crucial role of clean energy in empowering women entrepreneurs across rural India. This initiative, supported by foundation president Dr. Rajiv Shah, aims to enhance access to sustainable energy and create economic opportunities for women.
During a recent visit to rural Uttar Pradesh, Sanghi observed firsthand how clean energy programs are enabling women to establish small enterprises and earn income. These climate-focused interventions are credited with boosting productivity and local economic growth for over 100,000 women-led businesses nationwide.
Sanghi expressed her deep admiration for the resilience of these women entrepreneurs, noting that clean energy transitions provide a tangible tool for financial independence and dignity. Her decade-long commitment to gender equity reinforces her belief that empowering women creates significant positive ripple effects within their communities.
