Rustomjee Group has partnered with the Rotary Club of Bombay Airport to support the Kawale Check Dam project in Vikramgad Taluka, Palghar District, Maharashtra. This initiative, slated for inauguration on June 7, 2026, is designed to enhance water security and agricultural output for approximately 1,800 farming families across 18 villages.
The project aims to address persistent water scarcity in the tribal region by capturing and conserving rainwater. The dam will store water for nearly two kilometers upstream, facilitating groundwater recharge and ensuring year-round water availability.
With a total investment of Rs. 70.58 lakh, the initiative is a collaborative effort focused on sustainable infrastructure. Mrs. Namrata Nulwalla, Chief Sustainability Officer at Rustomjee Group, highlighted the importance of water security for economic resilience in rural areas.
Ms. Pragna Mehta, President of Rotary Club of Bombay Airport, emphasized the project's potential to be a lifeline for local communities, driving socio-economic development and supporting agricultural activities. The partnership combines Rotary's ethos with Rustomjee's development commitment to create lasting value.
