A critical rescue operation is underway for a humpback whale that has beached itself on Port Kennedy beach, south of Perth. The incident occurred on Wednesday, with the whale first spotted swimming near the shore throughout the morning.
By approximately 11am, the animal had become stranded on the sand. Department of Biosecurity, Conservation and Attractions officers, along with Parks and Wildlife personnel, were dispatched to the scene. They are actively engaged in efforts to save the humpback whale near Long Point Brewing Company.
