The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) is investing Rs 19 crore to prepare more than 200 Chhath ghats across the city. This significant allocation aims to enhance facilities such as approach roads, lighting, parking, and general cleanliness ahead of the major festival. The corporation's comprehensive plan includes repairing roads, removing slush and mud, and installing necessary barricades. Mayor Sita Sahu confirmed that all preparatory work is slated for completion by November 13. Special attention is being given to ghats along the Ganga and other water bodies to mitigate issues arising from recent floods. Safety measures are a priority, with temporary barricades, sand leveling, and improved lighting along riverfronts and access routes. Dangerous areas will be demarcated with cloth barricades. The Collectorate Ghat has the highest proposed expenditure, with substantial funds also allocated to Bans Ghat and Mahendru Ghat for their improvement and accessibility.
