Forest employees planted 813,881 trees, while the community contributed 555,577 saplings at 167 different locations, engaging 96 plantation events overall. This initiative is part of a broader commitment to environmental restoration. In the past year, the department planted 1.73 million saplings on Independence Day and sowed 1.4 million plants on Pakistan Day. The Peshawar Forest Division alone planted over 50,000 saplings in the Spinkhak area. Officials emphasized that these plantations will significantly improve environmental conditions by enhancing green cover, reducing air pollution, and moderating local temperatures. The drive serves as a tribute to Pakistan's martyrs, highlighting the responsibility to protect natural resources for future generations amidst pressing climate change challenges.
